2020 BEL and MMEL Coaches Named
Submitted By Heidi Dombek on Monday, July 22, 2019
Baseball Oakville is proud to name Kyle Liberto as the Bantam Elite (BEL - 2005) Head Coach and Scott Kirkpatrick as the Minor Midget Elite (MMEL - 2004) Head Coach for the upcoming 2019-2020 season.

Kyle is entering his 9th year coaching, having led Royal York Baseball to 3 City Championships & an 18U OBA Championship in 2017. In 2018, he led the Etobicoke Rangers 15U Elite Program and he currently coaches with the Oakville A’s, while being appointed by COBA as their 2019 PeeWee All Star Head Coach.

Kyle works for The Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy as an Amateur Baseball Instructor. Over the last 3 years, he’s worked with and developed several players through Instructional clinics, Super Camps & one of the biggest showcases in Canada, Tournament 12 (T12). Kyle’s playing career included time with the Etobicoke Rangers AAA Program, along with surrounding organizations in Etobicoke.

Kyle is a fully-certified NCCP coach and is also a Level 3 Umpire.

Scott Kirkpatrick is a former collegiate baseball player, having played both in the US after high school and in Canada during his time at U of T Law. As a youth, Scott played for Team Alberta and led his Calgary team to 3 provincial championships.

This will be the 16th Oakville A’s team Scott coaches, having won numerous COBA league championships at the AAA level and an Ontario Silver medal. Scott will earn his 700th win as an Oakville coach later this summer, having helped Oakville athletes achieve multiple AAA tournament gold medals, including the club’s first CNE PeeWee Championship in 61 years, and Canada’s first gold medal at the “Beast of the East”. We have seen his former players progress on to university scholarships, the MLB draft and Team Canada...but most importantly, on to becoming good students and members of the community.

Scott is fully-certified through NCCP at all levels, and has also previously coached youth in volleyball, soccer and basketball.
Graduating from AAA Rep baseball, Oakville players in their large diamond years have the opportunity to develop their skills and showcase their abilities at an elite provincial level through the Oakville A’s Elite Program.
The focus of the Elite program is to support A’s athletes in their baseball career goals; whether professional, collegiate or local. Elite athletes see weekly indoor training at our private indoor facility, along with strength & conditioning, and mental preparedness classes.

Our Elite coaching staff is augmented by specialized professionals; which recently have included 16 yr MLB veteran and World Series Champion Gregg Zaun, Jose Nicolas (Pittsburgh Pirates), Miles Gordon (Cincinnati Reds), John Ogiltree (Team Canada, Toronto Blue Jays), Tyler Moe (Baltimore scout) and Gad Espinosa (Mental Training).

TRYOUTS - Stay tuned as Bantam/BEL and Minor Midget/MMEL tryouts will be announced next week and will commence the week after.
