MEL Pitcher Showcased in Mississauga
Submitted By Heidi Dombek on Tuesday, March 8, 2016
Darren Dwyer, of our Midget Elite Team, received an invitation to the MLB Scouting Bureau Showcase this past weekend in Mississauga and his pitching skills quickly attracted the attention of scouts.

From Prep Baseball Report: Recently just popping up on the radar is right-hander Darren Dwyer who is listed at 6-foot-1, 193-pounds. He was 86-87 mph with good feel for a breaking ball that showed downward action. He has been the sleeper of the winter so far for the 2016 class.

Bob Elliot of the Canadian Baseball Network: “Playing for coach Tyler Moe, was at 87 MPH and there is more in there.”

Coach Moe was quoted saying: "Darren has hit the ground running this year and making a name for himself as the recruiting season heats up. We saw him up to 88 mph this fall and with the off season training he's put in it's not a stretch to have him at 90 mph as we move into the season."

Darren has also been invited to the PBR Ontario Elite Showcase March 26th.

Congratulations to you Darren!
