On Saturday May 9 at Oakville Park, Baseball Oakville
officially opened its 52nd season with its Second Annual Opening Day
Celebration.
The celebrations saw the 540 Golden Hawks Marching Band lead a player parade of 31 House League and 18 Representative teams on to the field.
Councilor Marc Grant, acting Mayor for month of May, threw out the first pitch and Country Music Artist Kaitlin Kozell capped off the ceremony by singing the national anthem before the Golden Hawks marched our players off the field.
Following the celebration, the Oakville A’s Minor Midget (16U) Elite team, Oakville’s first entry in the newly formed Midget Elite League, hosted the Brampton Royals and came away with a 9-3 victory.
