Opening Day Celebration

Baseball Oakville is excited to start the 2014 baseball season with an official Opening Day Celebration where all Baseball Oakville players - House League, Select and Rep - will march in the Opening Day Parade featuring the Royal Canadian Air Cadets Colour Guard.
Outlined below are the details of the day for teams/players/parents.
LOCATION: Glen Ashton Park (Eight Line and Glen Ashton)
Date: Saturday May 10, 2014
***Parking is available at Iroquois Ridge High School as well as along Kestell Blvd.***
Lineup (10:00 am)
Staging Area: Glen Ashton Diamond 2
Players are to wear their full Baseball Oakville or A's uniform.
Parents will drop their player(s) off with their Coach at the staging area at Diamond 2 no later than 10:00 am and then move to Diamond 1 to set up to watch the festivities.
PLAYER PARADE (10:30 am)
Players will march from Diamond 2 to the outfield of Diamond 1 where they will line up for the Opening Day Festivities.
Teams are encouraged to prepare a team small banner or carry flags or a mascot.
FIELD CELEBRATION (11:30 am)
Welcome Players and Families
Presentation of Colors
Play National Anthem “Oh Canada”
First Pitch: Councilor Dave Gittings
Player Exit (12:00 pm)
Players will march back to Diamond 2 where they will gather with their Coach. Parents can make their way to Diamond 2 to collect their player(s).
ALL OMBA PLAYERS WILL RECEIVE FREE SANDWICH AND DRINK (Between 12 and 6 pm)
Sandwich/hotdog and a drink will be available for $3 for all others.
Families can stay and have lunch right away or come back any time to eat and watch some of the exhibition games.
OPENING DAY GAME SCHEDULE
House League (Mosquito and Peewee) exhibition games will be played at 1:00, 3:00, and 5:00 pm.
Oakville A’s exhibition games will be played at 7:00pm under the lights featuring our Senior Rookie Ball A’s (2013 AAA Provincial Champions) against the Mississauga North Tigers (2013 Finalists) and the Peewee AA (2013 A Provincial Champions) against the Mississauga South Twins AA.
