Major Rookie A's win Burlington Tournament
The Major Rookie 1 team won its second tournament in as many weekends, winning the Burlington Tournament on May 30 to June 1.
In the round robin, the Major Rookie Ball A's won 14-7 over the Mississauga Majors and beat the Kitchener Panthers 18-10. They won the semi final 15-5 over the host Burlington Bulls.
The A’s came from behind in a very tight ball game to beat the Tigers 10-7 . The big inning was the bottom of the sixth with the A’s trailing 6-5; Ronak D came to the plate with the bases loaded and hit a deep drive over the centre fielders head for a triple that scored three and put the A’s out in front.
Strong defensive play from all players helped to hold the opposition at bay for most of the tournament.
