Welcome!

We are already working toward the upcoming 2020 season and there are many changes on the way. This season will include a very large House League - 48 teams and 25 Rep teams – one of the largest Rep programs in Canada!

If you were a Level 2.3 umpire in 2019 you will need to attend a SuperClinic this year in order to receive Level 3 certification. Registration is now open - www.baseballontario.com/umpires.  Registration is limited. If you do not or cannot attend, you will need to register for a Level 2 clinic and you will remain as 2.3 for this year.  Level 3 umpires can umpire Rep Midget baseball and above.

All Rep-level baseball umpires are required by the Ontario Baseball Association (OBA) and Baseball Canada to be re-certified yearly. Oakville Minor Baseball will be hosting a one-day clinic on April 18, 2020 (9:00am - approx 4:00pm at Garth Webb Secondary School on Westoak Trails Blvd). This clinic certifies Level 1 or Level 2 umpires from Oakville as well as umpires from the surrounding area. You will be required to attend the entire clinic to successfully attain certification by the OBA trainers.

·         In the event that our clinic date does not work with your schedule, you will be required to attend an alternate course in the 1-day format at another hosting facility. The list of clinics is posted on the OBA website at www.baseballontario.com. Dates are added periodically over the spring so check in often.

·         Click on the Umpires “Development” tab and search under the “2020 Umpire Clinics” tab. There are several clinics posted and note that space is limited and pre-registering is required.

·         Step #1- Register at www.baseballontario.com

·         Step #2- Watch for an email from Heidi Dombek to confirm pre-registration and further information on how to complete registration to attend the Oakville clinic.

If you are not interested in returning as an umpire, please take a moment and let me know.  Your name will be removed from my directory and email distribution list.

I look forward to another busy summer and will be updating more details on the Baseball Oakville website soon.

Should you have any questions please contact me, Heidi Dombek, Umpire Scheduler
