Rained out
The Oakville A's Minor Bantam AA were looking forward to their first exhibition game on Saturday. But due to the poor weather they will have to go straight into the season should the parks be playable by Monday.
The winter training went extremely well and the team has worked on the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, and throwing. The couple outdoor practices they have had this spring, have confirmed that they have attained their winter goal of improving in all those aspects of their game. They will continue to focus on these aspects of their game, and in addition, they will now include team concepts and scenarios which is more difficult to work on indoors.
They will be thrown into the fire should the weather cooperate on Monday and Tuesday as the season begins with games vs Halton Hills and Burlington respectively. They will have to come together quickly as this will be their inaugural season as a team. They must contend with teams that have been together for many years at the rep level. The coaches feel they have what it takes to continue to improve over the course of the summer and should be a team to contend with in the fall.
It all begins Monday at River Oaks. Can't wait to get started.
