2013 Minor Rookie Ball Tier 1 : OBA AAA Champions
The Oakville A’s Minor Rookie Ball team won the AAA Provincial Championships in Kitchener on Labour Day weekend, going undefeated in six games to win the title.
Oakville opened the tournament with a win over East York 19 -18, then defeated North York 12 - 8, Whitby 5 - 4, Mississauga North Tigers 15 - 3, and Mississauga South Twins 8 – 7 before meeting Mississauga North again in the championship game, scoring the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning and winning 8 - 7.
The team of seven and eight year olds also won the Central Ontario Baseball Association title earlier in August.
Members of the team are Joshua Beaupre, Aaron Bosnjak, Anthony Busseri, Louis Busseri, Brayden Gillespie, Joe Moszcelt, Ryan O’Born, Keze Tatem, Evan Tanaka, Trevor Woods, Jorge Valdes and Eli Zweig. The team is coached by Tony Busseri, Peter Busseri, David Gillespie and Neville Tatem.
